Meeting new people should be fun. These tips help you stay safe on NetworkChat and when you meet in person.
While chatting
- Never send money or gift cards to someone you haven’t met — and report anyone who asks.
- Never share passwords, OTPs, bank details or your home address.
- Keep the conversation on NetworkChat until you trust the person.
- Be careful with photos. View-once photos disappear after opening, but anyone can take a screenshot.
- Watch for red flags: refusing to video call, stories that don’t add up, pressure to move fast.
Meeting in person
- Video call first so you know they are who they say they are.
- Meet in a busy public place — a café, mall or restaurant — and arrange your own transport.
- Tell a friend where you are going and who you are meeting.
- Stay in control: keep your phone charged and leave whenever you feel uncomfortable.
